Once installed in the pool, the Poolguard Pool Alarm cannot be deactivated; it remains in a constant state of alarm readiness. Upon installation back into the pool, the Poolguard Pool Alarm will automatically wake up and conduct a system test.

The alarm comes with an in-house remote receiver that has a range of up to 200 feet and requires a 12-volt power supply. The Poolguard Poolside Alarm operates on a 9-volt battery (not included) with a battery life of around one year. It also features an audible low battery indicator, which is displayed on the in-house remote receiver. The advanced sensing technology reduces the chances of false alarms caused by wind, rain, or small objects like sticks or toys entering the water.

The Poolguard Pool Alarm has undergone testing and complies with the ASTM standard. It is advised not to place the alarm too close to a return line. The horn is 85 decibels at 10 feet and the alarm can be used in pools up to 20 x 40 or 800 square feet in size.
